Answer, with sources Validation ready

The notice period is 90 days for enterprise agreements signed after March 2024. The current MSA sets that period for non-renewal, while the renewals guidance says notice should be recorded before the account review.

Search is not one job.

Locate

When someone knows the filename, record or exact term, ordinary keyword or metadata search is often the right answer.

No model step needed

Understand

When the evidence is spread across policies, agreements or project records, Marella can pull it together and show every source.

Retrieval + answer + source review

Decide

Marella can gather the evidence. The person responsible still makes the judgement call.

A person still decides

How it works

The answer is the middle of the job.

  1. 01

    Set the source boundary

Choose the approved documents, versions and identities before anyone asks a question.

Test: inaccessible, deleted and archived sources

  2. 02

    Retrieve passages

Marella searches for relevant passages, not just matching filenames. Parsing and source freshness shape what can be found.

Test: known answers, distractors and difficult formats

  3. 03

    Synthesise with citations

The answer links each claim to the passage it came from. A citation on its own does not prove the passage says it.

Test: correctness, completeness and conflicting evidence

  4. 04

    Review the source

The reviewer opens the source, checks the controlling version and accepts, revises or rejects the answer.

Owner: the authorised person for the workflow

Four document setups

Test the awkward questions first.

A representative evaluation tells you more than a polished prompt. Write down the answer you expect before you run it.

Open the evaluation kit

Known answer

Current source plus plausible distractors

Find the controlling passage and link it to the claim

Stale version

Current and archived documents use different wording

Prefer the current source and expose the conflict

Absent answer

The document set does not contain enough evidence

Qualify or decline instead of filling the gap

Revoked access

A previously visible source becomes unavailable

Respect the tested identity and connector boundary

Known limits

Every cited answer still needs a human check.

  • Retrieval can miss relevant evidence or select a plausible distractor.
  • A citation can be there and still not support the claim it sits on.
  • Connector permission inheritance and freshness are tested per integration.
  • Marella does not replace the authorised reviewer responsible for a consequential decision.

Direct answers

How is this different from a site search box?

A search box returns a ranked list of files and leaves the reading to you. This retrieves the relevant passages across documents and writes a synthesis linked back to them, which is only worth the extra step once you have tested the evidence behind it and how it behaves when it fails.

Does Marella search the public web?

Enterprise document search is scoped to the sources your organisation has approved. Web research is a separate configurable agent role, and the workflow should make it visible which of the two an answer came from.

Can it inherit all source permissions?

Do not assume that from an integration label. Test identity, revoked access, deletions and inaccessible content for the selected connector.
