Where this one gets misread
A citation to a document is not evidence for a claim. The test is whether the cited passage supports the specific sentence attached to it, and that is a different check from whether the link resolves.

AI citations connect an AI output back to its sources. A link to a file and a passage that supports the claim attached to it are not the same thing.

Questions to ask
Ask for a worked example on your own material, and the evidence needed to reproduce it.
- Does each claim carry its own citation, or does the answer carry one?
- Does the link reach the passage or just the file?
- What share of the answer is uncited?
- Who checked correctness, and how?
